CATCH UP WITH FARIDA: Website Revamp, New Book Release & More!
I hope you all had a great summer. I can't believe it's already September!
It's been a busy and productive summer for me. I'm excited to announce that I have an updated website, which was launched this week and is packed with a lot to browse through. The thought of refreshing or redoing my website and getting all the content together was overwhelming. However, I want to give a huge round of applause to Jamie Renee Creative, my web designer, for making it feel seamless. It was a pleasure working with her. Check out my new website here >> FaridaZaman.com
I did some traveling this summer too.
My husband and I visited Crete and Athens. The culture and history were so enriching, and I loved the regional foods, all so fresh and delicious.
My daughter and I spent 6 days in New York in August, indulging in shopping, galleries, shows, and enjoying perfect mother-daughter time. This might become an annual tradition for us!
I also spent a fair amount of time revising my picture book drafts and writing new ones. I'm preparing myself for a busy fall ahead as I work on my second authored and illustrated picture book for Owl Books. I'm expecting some editing before I start sketching in the next couple of weeks.
Currently, I'm working on illustrations for Chirp magazine, written by my daughter Layla Ahmad.
It's such a sweet story about culture, family, and celebrations.
I also created a series of travel illustrations featuring various U.S. states for my licensing agents at Wild Apple Art Licensing.
I learned a lot about them while researching.
